Movie Night, November 29th @ 6pm

Hello All,

This coming Sunday, November 29th @ 6pm, FPC Youth will be hosting a Movie Night in the Holyword Theater in the CE building. We will be watching Star Trek (2009). Food will be provided, remember to bring a $3 donation per usual.

Also, Just so we can be clear, I'm talking about the movie that was released this year, not the one with William Shatner. One is only sorta nerdy, the other is really really nerdy.

YES!

NO!

Lock In Update, Suday Night Youth Group

Due the Lock-In, we will not be holding Youth Group this Sunday at 6pm.

....OK. So, here is the plan:

1) Arrive at the church parking lot at 8:50pm ON THE DOT. We will leave immediately at 9:05pm. If you arrive at 9:05pm and you see us leaving the parking lot, look closely at the windows of the van: You will see us laughing at you because of your lateness  :-P

2) We will be back from the movie by 12am. If you don't plan on staying for the rest of the Lock-In, have your parents pick you up around this time.

3) Group Covenant, A.K.A. Caleb lays down the law.

3) PARTY!!!!!!!

4) At 6:30am, clean up and gather all belongings.

5) 7am: GO HOME!!!

If you haven't RSVP-ed, you can still come.... but I'm not promising tickets will be available! Feel free to bring your xbox or wii, games, controllers etc.... Bring a sleeping bag, pillow, and anything else you would normally bring to a sleep over.

Also, I know this is obvious for some, but feel free to bring money for snacks in the theater, and $8.50 for the ticket.

Next Friday [October 16th], FPC Shreveport Youth will be going to see the 9:25pm showing of WHERE THE WILD THINGS ARE, a movie based off of Maurice Sendak's beloved children's book. Invite as many friends as you'd like, and please RSVP by this Wednesday!!! Because of the popularity of this film, it is likely to get sold out, so I will have to purchase the tickets early.

If you haven't seen it already, here is the trailer:

After the movie, we'll head back to the church and continue the fun with our WILD THINGS LOCK-IN. I can promise food, video games, music, and lots of fun!

Amazing Ministry Opportunity

The Communications Ministry is looking for our youth to lend a hand in making new video segment about The Capital Campaign here at FPC [http://fpccampaign.org/site.php].

A promise of the campaign is to move our youth group to a grand-spanking-new space on the 4 floor (which we will design ourselves). Communications is looking for youth to participate in interviews by either conducting interviews, or by being interviewed themselves.

If you're interested, email me [acbraley@gmail.com] or Lisa Schrott [lschro@lsuhsc.edu] for more information.

It's easy, and the time commitment to this project is both flexible and small, but yields an amazing chance for us to make a lasting impact on the future of our congregation!
